Kyoko Murata Williams, MA, LCMHC
Kyoko Graduated with a Master of Arts in Mental Health Counseling from Asbury Theological Seminary in Wilmore Kentucky in 2012. After working as a counselor in a community college in KY, she returned to her home country, Japan, and practiced counseling in the English-speaking community. She has worked with people from pre-teen to adults who have struggled with issues related to anxiety, depression, adjustment difficulties, acculturation, sexual identity, cross-cultural challenges, family and relationship disputes, abuse, trauma, and spiritual struggles. She uses multiple treatment modalities that are appropriate for clients' presenting issues including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). She received training in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) and offers DBT Comprehensive Program at Family Solution; she has experience working with teenagers and adults who struggle with emotion dysregulation that leads to self-mutilation and suicidal ideation. She has a passion to work with traumas: She is trained in EMDR and uses Internal Family System (IFS) theory to help clients process difficult past experiences. Outside of the office Kyoko enjoys spending time with friends and family, cooking, practicing Yoga, and traveling.
