Kelsey Flanigan, BSW
Kelsey is currently pursuing a Master of Social Work (MSW) at the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill, where she has developed a solid foundation in clinical social work practices, human behavior, and social welfare policies. She graduated with her Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) from the University of North Carolina Greensboro. During her time at UNCG, Kelsey interned with the Winston-Salem Forsyth County School System, working directly with the school social worker and school nurse. Through this experience, she gained valuable experience working with children aged 5-11 and their families.
Kelsey believes in a safe, open, collaborative space for people to process life events and emotions and to learn tools for support. She is interested in the family-systems approach and using techniques like play therapy, mindfulness, strength based, and a solution-focused approach. This fall, Kelsey will receive MATCH training to bring into her sessions with clients. She aims to work with children, teens, adults, and families.
In her free time, Kelsey enjoys backpacking, reading, crocheting, and going on walks with her dog, Poppy.
