Dana Shemer, MSW, LCSWA
Dana completed her Masters of Social Work at UNC Chapel Hill, building off her previous studies in Psychology and Social Justice as an undergraduate at Carolina. While Dana has always loved working with families, she became particularly interested in working with young children during her prior roles as a toddler teacher and preschool program coordinator. She is especially passionate about supporting parents and teachers as they navigate the exciting (and often complex) foundational years of children’s lives. Dana has worked clinically with children of various ages experiencing trauma, self-esteem issues, anxiety, and family separation, as well as supporting families in early intervention. Her background has shaped her collaborative, comprehensive, and trauma-informed approach to care. Outside of work, Dana loves cooking, collecting puzzles, and exploring new places with friends and family.
