Carrie Watkins, MSW, LCSWA
Carrie is a Licensed Clinical Social Work Associate, earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from Charleston Southern University and completing her Master of Social Work degree at Louisiana State University (Geaux Tigers!). In 2016, Carrie began working with children, adolescents, and families in Children’s Advocacy Centers as an advocate and forensic interviewer before transitioning to providing community-based clinical services as an intensive in-home service provider. Carrie is passionate about providing treatment for survivors of abuse and is currently working towards a National Therapist Certification in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, an evidence-based approach long considered the gold standard for treating trauma in children and adolescents. She believes in using a trauma-informed, collaborative approach to treatment when working with individuals of all ages who may be experiencing challenges around their mental health, recovering from a traumatic event, or navigating transitional life changes. In addition to her clinical work, Carrie is also an experienced speaker, training facilitator, and mental health consultant for schools, parents, and community agencies, providing education and training around mental health and abuse prevention. In her free time, Carrie enjoys running, mountain biking, and camping with her family.
